LCD-U’s projects address widely shared basic community needs and concerns and the methodologies employed permit replication to wider audiences.
Self reliance
LCD-U strives to build institutional, organizational and financial capacity of client local government (district and sub county) personnel and beneficiary communities and individuals to ensure sustainability and continuity as an exit strategy.
Participation and team work
LCD-U strives to ensure that local governments and communities that work for and benefit from the assignments are involved in a deeper understanding of the problems to be addressed and in the development and management of the assignments.
Replication and Adaptability
LCD-U attempts to focus, plan and undertake its assignments with the twin factors of replication and adaptability in mind to ensure optimal flexibility for the client local governments (district and sub county ) and the community in integrating the assignments’ results into the wider government system.
Action learning
LCD-U promotes basic principles of action learning and empowerment to both client organizations and their beneficiaries as a basic approach to organizational sustainability.
Accountability
LCD-U is convinced that it should be answerable to the beneficiaries and the donor community by giving a report about the performance/ progress of the projects and how resources are utilized.
Sensitivity LCD-U’s projects are environmental friendly and gender sensitive. It does not promote activities which have a negative effect on both women and the environment |
