LEGAL STATUS AND MANDATE

Link for Community Development–Uganda (LCD-U) is a community centred non-government organization (NGO) registered with the National Board for Non-Governmental Organisations’ number: S.5914/3857. LCD-U mainly operates in the Districts of Kamuli, Kaliro and Mbale.

Against this background, LCD-U was formed in 2001 to redress the plight of those relegated to a marginal position in order to improve the quality of their life. This is achieved not only through fundraising for project work but also by enhancing volunteer efforts and strengthening partnership with other organizations. Consequently LCD-U’s contribution to social transformation has made significant milestones as far as the Millennium Development Goals are concerned.
